I had one in my '71 Sebring auto for a while. It wasn't all that bad. I don't remember what the rpms were. This was back in the mid '70s. I went back to the 3.55 after a summer. It won't be 5,000 rpms anyway. I think my 4.56 in the AMX is 4,000 at 60. Been 2 or 3 years since I had those in.
