Default No Spark. I need Help

I am trying to fire up this new car I just bought. It is a 318 car. I am not getting any spark. I have checked and I have power to both sides of the ballast resistor, power to the control module, power all the way up to the distributor, and power on both sides of the coil but i have no spark to the coil to the cap. Could it just be the bad coil? Or could it be something else I may not have checked?

Sounds about right. Stock ignition box? Changed it out? Run before?

I took another control module that I know is good and hooked up to it and still got nothing, but I have not tried switching coils yet.

I had the very same thing happen to me once. I thought it was the coil, but it was the ECU(which I guess you're referring to as the control module?).
I would make sure your ECU is grounded(they have to be).You may need to run a ground wire from the mounting side of it,to a good ground area. Or,it may be that the engine is not grounded to the firewall(body).
The same thing would apply if it is an older points style setup, only it will just have a voltage regulator.

disconnect the - coil from the ECU, energize ignition-use a jumper and ground out the neg side of the coil, pull the jumper and watch the coil wire laying on the block with a screwdriver stuck in it, it should jump a spark to the block. Thatll tell you if the coil is bad.
