Default Help, I need to find a replacement radiator!

Ok guys, you might remember me talking about rebuilding my 318 engine a while back....well, as you can imagine....Im back again. While the shop thats building my engine was putting everything back together, they noticed the radiator was leaking(badly he said on the phone). Now before I put the car in the shop, it wasnt, but that doesnt mean it couldnt have gone because of age. Anyhow who, and where could I find a 1968 barracuda radiator? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tim

PS-I've tryed laysons and year one, both no longer carry them....

Default Try these guys

If all you want is a stock replacement, you should keep looking locally, but if you want to upgrade, try U.S. Radiator:

http://www.usradiator.com/

I am very happy with mine, although it was about twice what a stocker would have cost.

1968cuda: If you want to retain a stock radiator, I would have yours rebuilt. Their are many aftermarket radiator options but most are ridiculously priced.

If you want a new, sure-fit radiator that is not expensive, PM me for details. I have a brand-new Modine 66-67 Mustang radiator (still in the box) that I was going to use on a project but didn't due to changing directions. I would bet that there isn't much difference in size, shape and capacity to your stock radiator.

I would give Paddock a call.I upgraded my stock radiator with a
3 row radiator that was a direct replacement for my 340 Demon. I
hope they can help. The phone no is 800-428-4319.

Unless the tank is cracked I would just take it to a local radiator shop and have them do a re-core.

They cut out the existing core, clean and prep the tanks, and then weld in a new core. It is a lot less expensive than new and will retain the original tanks. At the same time, you can have them at in another core or two, for better cooling.

Yea, I think thats what I might end up doing. I had a replacement radiator that will work for the time being, but its old...and looks like it wont hold up for much longer. BTW I was told there is a radiator shop out your way...in Manassas...is this true and where is it?

There is a good one here in Manassas. If you take the 28 south (from 66), it will be on the right side just before Klines ice cream.

Manassas Radiator Exchange
8110 Centreville Rd, Manassas, VA 20111
703-361-4842
Fax: 703-361-4842

I'm sure that if you look in the phonebook, you will find at least one shop in Vienna.

Like ehostler said getting it recored is the best thing to do. And if its one of the tanks thats no good chances are they can probably just replace that too.
