British train maker Hornby buys Airfix-Humbrol!

No news on Heller, however, because they are tied up under French bankrupcy law. Still, this is welcome news! I'm hopeful some classic kits get reissued soon. |

I saw this the other day, glad to see it. Wonder if that means we'll have to go through Hornby to get those kits or if Hornby will use what ever the sales agreements they had to get their trains and slot cars into more distributers

I am a train buff like many others who laments ever selling all the childhood train stuff back when a complete Lionel set could only command 20 bucks.
I just returned from a great Amtrak trip to Savannah and loved every mile. Unfortunately, it triggered the ol' train brain again. Your post caused me to research Hornby trains. I found their site very interesting. Too bad that they don't produce any US type trains, although their British units are beautiful. Prices looked very good. Have you had any experience with Hornby? |

Not me, the Hobby Town I work in has one of their HO Live Steam engines in stock, but that's about it. We also sell alot (especially this time of year) of the Scalextric slot car products.
