I just bought a 2001 2500 4x4 diesel auto.My fuel mileage sucks(12to14 mpg)This truck replaces a 1994 powerstroke F350 4x4 stick.My Ford was getting 16 mpg and i drove it a lot harder.I've been reading the posts about flash and i was ondering if that could be the prob.If it is the prob what are my options.

the fuel milage is about right it might get beter after about 10k. the flash you were reading about applies to 98-99`s and there is a new flash for those which restores the power

he's right, run the nuts off of it for a while and it should come around i have 18,000+ on mine and it has averaged over all, that means highway and city for the total of 18,000miles 18.8MPG

My dad had a 95 4x4 auto. and that thing got about 22mpg cross country. He took that in for some service work, and after words it only got 15. He traded that in for a 97, he ordered it all the same but with a 5 speed and that gets 22-24mpg running in town or on the freeway. AND THAT THING HAS B&!!$. So might want them to try flashing the computer and see if that works.
