I had a new '68 Corvette 427 and went home to Michigan to visit relatives.
I was leaving one of the many small towns in the area behind a sharp-looking Camero when he saw me on his tail and stepped on it.
We're doing 130+ on two-lane blacktop and every time I try to pass there's a truck or a hay-wagon coming from the other way.
Finally, after about three miles of me riding his rear bumper, they guy in the Camero pulls over and we get out to chat.
He asks: What the hell you got in that thing? I couldn't pull away from you.
I double up laughing as I try to tell him it's a 427.
He couldn't pull away from me? For three miles I've been looking for enough clear road to PASS him!
