Wanting to move up from ported 906s with 214 181 combo whats the best unassembled aluminum head that accepts factory rocker gear intake, and exhaust configuration. I dont want to change from my m1 intake and hooker heasders so i know i,m limiting choices but let me know what you think. I,m running comp adj.standard offset. was looking at stageVI. wonder about valve length and pushrod offset for the larger intake runners. I already have a new set of manley 214 181 valves in stock length and brand new comp roller rockers .I was going to fully port some 452s but started thinkingI would be better off with some high flow number heads

Stage VI's accept all the stock valvetrain parts, but the intake ports are higher and require a wider intake manifold or spacers. However, their qualitycontrol is very lousy, and you may have to rebuild them out of the box. And they do not flow well without port work so the end result is not very cost effective.
Edelbrock RPM's work decently out of the box, and better with some porting. They are propably the wisest entry level aluminum heads, but the guide clearances and valve jobs should be checked on them too. Stock vavletrain sorks, but head bolts with smaller hex are required.
Indy EZ's and SR's are great heads, they have the most power potential of these heads, but require some more "custom" parts, like longer pushrods and special valley tray that makes the starting price a little higher. EZ's have stock exhaust port location, and are really designed for stock port window intake, the SR's have raised exhaust and the intake ports are better suite for MW size.
