Small block oil pumps-Sanborn?
Pulled the pump on the TT340 to look for any damage from pushrod failures and found it is getting tired and has some debris damage. Bad news. Biggest problem is that the cover is aluminum, hardcoated, and looks to be nearly worn thru the hardcoat. Cover/rotor clearance is now getting too big.
What is worse news is that this is a nearly 20 year old pump/conversion that doesn't seem to be available anymore. It is a tall rotor/relieved cap on top of a high volume pump. It has 1.25" tall rotor and a 1.03" deep body. I think it was Miloden, but not sure. Has the regular inlet and cover inlet. I think this was a Hemi rotor adaption to a sb pump. Does anyone have info on what pump available now has the highest flow? Nobody even seems to list rotor size much anymore, much less actual flow rates. With two turbos to feed, this setup needs a lot of oil! thanks for any help. |
