Default Any Help TF727

Hello I need any help i can get. I have a TF 727 hooked to my B&m star shifter. Worked fine. However i disconected the linkage to work on the exhaust . Since i reconnected I now get a clinking sound (like fingernails banging on alluminum) only in Park and in no other gear. I adjusted my shifter as instructed for each gear but still hear the noise. Not very loud but still there if you listen. Does anyone understand these trannys and can offer advice? Its inly in park that i get the noise and park seems to enage because the car doesnt roll anywhere while in Park Thanks again

Is it possible that the exhaust work moved the pipe close enough that the linkage is touching the pipe when in park. When something changes after being worked on it's usually the work that is responsible.

The noise you describe could be a cracked flexplate or loose converter bolts and may not be related to the exhaust work. There is little fluid movement in Park but the other gears put a load on the converter and that can stop the noise.

Remove the dust cover from the front of the bellhousing and check it for any signs of chafing with the converter bolts. If the bolts are tight, spin the engine over and look for any cracks in the flexplate.

Usually if the problem is in the flexplate or converter bolt clearance, the sound is louded when in gear. If the wheels are not turning, then the noise probbably would not be the internal park park linkage since it locks the trany output shaft. I would suspect the exhaust work may have caused something to rub or touch when in park. It may be an emergency park cable, or other clearance problem with the exhaust?
