Dodge Demon Concept on allpar
The way I understand it, might be built for Europe, I think they should build for the states! Mazda, BMW and Pontiac/Saturn need some competition! One with 2.4 nat. aspirated, one 2.4 turbo, limited slip, maybe removeable top, the way I'd do it.

Yuck, I hate those little 2 seater convertible cars. I really hope that this one doesnt go past the concept stage.

It's on allpar. two seater cars aint for everyone, that's a fact, and they don't cary much in the trunk, maybe this one will do better than the Solstice, which has no trunk space hardly, the Miata has more,,, But hey, I bet it will beat a viper on autocross, simply cause it will be way lighter, and if they built one with turbo 2.4 (thats my suggestion) it'll run fairly fast, and affordable

I'm surprised they haven't built one before now, I always felt that Neon components would make a neat lil 2 seat roadster.
Maybe this time it'll work for them, but whether it stays a one-off concept car or makes it to production is another story. Also, after all the hubub about the Demon name back in the 70s on the A-body, Im surprised they are reconsidering it now. Maybe if it goes to production they'll change the name. |

I like that alot. Chrysler needs a car that can be in the same segment as the Pontiac Soltice and Saturn Sky. I have to tip my hat to the people creating these "Prototypes" since they look very close to production ready. I saw the new Challenger at the SEMA show and again was surprised at how production ready it seemed.
Will this be made here in the states at the Belvidere plant that makes the Caliber? |

Nope, they are saying that if it gets made, its going to be made for Europe, so even if it goes into production theres a good chance that we will not even see one over here.

Rear end looks too much like an Infinity

Great, another one of "those"..... It looks like a cross between a Sky, Solstice, Z3/9, Miata, S2000 and 350Z. Did I miss one? Not very innovative. It now seems that since the minivans are dead, everyone's jumping into the 2-seater bandwagon.

I say it is a Solsitice, wtf, Uhh the cross fire was a two seater, and I think they quit making them, I have only seen one, Oh well. I think it looks to much like the competition, just has GM written all over it.
But so do the tail lights on the new Dodge rams, just like last years Chevy. |

Nice way to thump another great Dodge name.
1st a 4 door Charger, and now a possible 2 seater euro weenie Demon. |

Wasn't the Crossfire a flop? What makes 'em think this one will turn out any different?

Well, the Crossfire was aimed at the "higher-end" market, while the new Demon is aimed at the "lower-end". Expensive vs not-so-expensive 2 seater.

I would rather have chrysler bring back the Intrepid, that was a great selling car with a great name!

whatever they call it, it would just be cool if they built a 2 seater, and made it affordable, don't need all the bells and whistles, just sticks to the road, a poor mans viper, they want to put all that turbo power in only the SRT-4s, I think there is other cars they can build

Demon madness
Wow, I could have two Demons in my garage. I love the concept, and to ignore a popular market niche is insane. Great looking concept, and with the 300 HP world four, it'll kick butt too.
By the way, the corporation admitted that only poor marketing hurt the Crossfire, which is now selling quite well. Ron |

Does it come with a 426 cid SM. BLK HEMI OPTION???

Keep dreaming
But it would be smart for them to come with 2 engine / power options: 160 hp and 270 hp.... |

the crossfire failedcuz marketing i work at a dodge/chrysler lot and we are always having people trying to find them especially the srt6 i think they should make the cheap 4banger fairly cheap srt4 and a mid priced srt6 the 6 would be able to be cheaper than the 350z and much faster just as the crossfires were....if there was the hemi option i would buy one but that will never happen

IMHO a two seat demon would be great yes if I could change things I would loose the cross hair grill and the generic rear. But even with the styling shortcomings I would still pony up for one.http://www.allpar.com/images/autosho...emon-front.jpg
