transmission in 88 Dakota V-6
Just wondering if any 999 transmissions ended up behind a V-6 in 88 Dakota, or would it be 904 or other? I believe the overdrive started in 89? Whatever it is, it would have the same bell pattern to bolt up to a 360, right? I'm guessing the V-6s had same bolt up, at least the 3.9, as an LA engine? And the crank, would that bolt up to the same flywheel as a 318?

Not sure of the gear ratios but both the bell housing and flex-plate bolt patterns should be identical to LA V-8s. I understand the A-500 (999 O.D.) trans would also bolt up to all 3 LA's

An '88 Dakota would have a 904 or 998, the 999 was used with the 318.
The 3.9 has the same bell and crank flange as the 318/360. |
