a few of us have done the denso alternator swap. it works well, especially if you opt for the 130 amp unit - though i wouldn't call it "lightweight".

here's a link to some bracket kits, though you can usually work with the stock brackets:

Is the Denso Alt. a standard unit with all Rice Can's ??? My car has a "Very Basic" Electrical requirement. My Alt. looks like "Crap" and I see alot of "Nice Little" Alternators on all the Ricer's at the Wreckers.

The Denso unit is standard on all newer MOPARs. So you would at least have something that came out of a MOPAR, instead of a ricer.

Couple ??? Do the mini vans use the Denso Alt ? What would be the Amp out put of these Alt's be ? My car has a Very Minimal requirement . I Don't need 130 Amps , but I want one of the small Alt's . Do starter relays or relays in general "wear out" ? Would a Alt. at a Auto Wrecker that has been rained on be any good . Sorry about All the Questions Jack

You can find the Denso alt on minivans, neons, intrepids, etc.

A rained on alt will be fine. It just may not look pretty.

Yes, relay do wear out. They can also develop corrosion on the contacts (inside the relay).
