Joe Ruttman wins the Chevy Trucks 150 in the Craftsman truck race at Phoenix. There were 4 Mopars in the top 10. This is the first win for Mopar at this track. Way to go Joe!

This is the first truck win for Bobby Hamilton racing. He certainly deserves it. He, his crew chief Danny Gill and the whole team have worked very hard for this first victory. I wish them many more. Joe Ruttman is a first class person. They represent Dana and Dodge well.

Since Ruttman and I are the same age, I felt a lot of satisfaction seeing him win, especially after he was let go by Jack Roush. I love his sense of humor and irreverance. There's too much of that missing in the Winston Cup series. Congrats also to Bobby Hamilton. It's nice to see a real Mopar guy win one as an owner.

Joe is a class act, no doubt about it. The thing that got me was after the race during an interview with Jack Sprague he mentioned that the Dodges had an advantage but didn't go into any details. I guess since the Winston Cup Chevy guys are crying, why not try it again in the truck series.
History is about to repeat itself.

Poor old Jack Sprague! Let's see...Chevy has 25 years of continuing race engineering while Chrysler is out of oval track racing; the 24 team has more financial support than any other team in the truck series; there are 20 Chevrolets in the event and 8 Dodges, and poor old Jack feels the Dodge has and advantage! By gosh, he's right! He is the ultimate champion whiner.

Thumbs up

There would have been 5 Dodges in the top 10. Randy Tolsma,in the #25 had a strong truck until he got caught up in the #98 truck's spin. I think he had the fastest truck out there,(and Greg Biffle knew it).Randy's definitely
had more than his share of bad luck.
