Biggrin 73 340 pistons

I have a 73 dart sport with 340 4spd.The engine is due for a rebuild. I'm planning on using 10.5 or 11.00 to 1 compression. What pistons do you guys recommend? Are there any I should avoid.I.m planning on mostly cruising with maybe a pass down the track once in a while.

You'll want to run less compression. I'd say more around 9 to 9.5, maybe a little more, with iron heads for a cruiser. Unless of course you have aluminum heads.

Silvolite cast replacement pistons #1267 I have used a few times for basic stock rebuilds with good success. They are for the 68-71 340s and will up your compression to 10+ depending on head chamber volume etc.

Definately need more info.

over 10:1 is too much with iron heads, but ok if alum is in your future.
