Just wanting to check om setting vavle lash on a shaft mounted 383 I have had several people tell me tighten the bolts down just enough so I can spin the pushrods is this correct?

I always tighten the rocker shaft bolts to the specified 25 ft. lbs.
I've never had a cam that required adjustable rockers on my 383 or 440 engines. |

stock rockers...no adjustment
Adjustable rocker/hydrualic lifter..., with lifter on base circle of cam(adjust as per lash chart, or firing order) adjust to zero lash (no load on the pushrod, but no clearance to the lifter cup either) then tighten 1/2 turn and tighten lock nut. |
