Default anyone using the comp XE268 solid?

I have a 66 Belvedere and will be putting in a 383/727 combo. The short block is done with diamond pistons at zero deck, 84cc edelbrock heads (9.2 compression), rpm intake and 800edelbrock carb, HP manifolds. Rear end ratio is 3.23 but I will be changing out to a 3.55? Haven't decided on a convertor yet, maybe a dynamic. Anyway, car is used mainly on street, but would like to be able to run 13's. I am wondering If anyone has experience with this cam, street manners, power, etc???

I am using the XE268H flat tappet cam in a 360 and I love it. Engine pulls hard from 1500-6500 rpm. The engine is in a 68 Barracuda which has runs a very tracktion limited 13.7 @ 102 1/4.

I think you have more comp than than 9.2. My 440 is at 11 thou below deck with 89 cc heads and it calculated out to 9.4. Just an observation.

I used the calculator on the K-B website and came up with 9.2. I think the 440 stroke and bore makes the difference in CR.

I have put one in a 360, 268 solid. It was a good cam, not much idle drama, and not much torque for the smooth idle.
Check out the ISKY 280/280. I have one in my 390 stroker, and it flat rocks.

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the Isky cam. I'm not sure if I can use that much cam with the manifolds though. Don't want to use headers.

I don't see how it wont work with the manifolds, yes, headers would work better, but, headers always give better performance.

Ran the Isky 280 megacam in a 383 4bbl/727 with 10" Turbo Action conv, & 3.91 sg....in a 68 Fury! HEAVY car, but the cam lope was nice & the converter and gears got the car moving pretty quick.
