Default Rainbow Colors on Monitor

I just turned the computer back on and the monitor came up all rainbow colored around the outside edges.....the center is still normal....what gives?

I hate the Rainbow Bright look on this thing!

Try getting into the monitor settings (buttons, etc on the monitor) and use the degauss once or twice. If its an LCD, you might just want to make sure that the video cables are plugged in all the way.

Hhhmm, I tried to get it working correctly, but it still had the rainbow....got tired of trying to fix it, so I bought a 'new monitor' and thought I would turn it back on again 'one more time' before I tossed it out.....sure enough, it started working again!

I am going to use the new monitor and keep the old one for a spare.

I had a monitor that used to do that if it was too hot in the room. Never did it unless the inside temp was above 80 degrees. I don't know if it was something hokey in the CPU or it was the monitor itself. Finally pitched the whole rig.

I had a monitor that would go crazy when my stero was turned on cause there was nothing to sheild the magnets in the subs and with a 200 watt amp it had some power. The same monito would go crazy when I turned on this new flouro tube desk lamp. Moved the lamp away and it was fine.

I live out in the middle of nowhere and I am surrounded by farms. I think that it might have something to do with the electric supply here. There are hundreds of large irrigations on the fields nearby and they run on electric power. Could that cause it?

Also, the crop dusters are in the sky every day. They over spray the house and more than once have painted my trucks with a yellowish dust....that cost them a pretty penny in fines too. The USDA got on them quick and although my law suit got tossed out of court, they took lots of money from the crop dusters.....the farmers' mother worked in the court house!
I had to go to court next, because I was too mean to her and she is an elected official.

I might be living in a large magnetic field.....another reason that I want to sell this place and move out of state!

Not sure if that is your problem or not. You could always try Tn. Plenty of farm land without the crop dusters.
