Default Play Dough

I'll probably get grief for this thread, but did you ever need to know how much clearance you had between your air cleaner or some other engine component and your hood. Wad up a ball of play dough, put it on the aircleaner, then close the hood. It squishes real nice, but does not stick, and keeps its shape after squishing. I used it when manchining my intake and carb spacer to fit a 4 inch air filter instead of a 3 inch on my carb, so the beast could breath better.

It also works great for checking valve to piston tolerances.

We use florist clay. It's real soft and does not stick to stuff either. And you can shave it and mold it better. Works great for valve clearances. Just another option that I think would work better.

Cool. I am going to try that tomorrow. I put one of the old style aluminum gasser scoops on my swepty. Zip said I should run a velocity stack to it and we tried one and after a little hand massaging,it'll be sealed up and suckin in that Sac Raceway air. I'm going back down on the 18th with the battery, fuel cell and weight in the back, not to mention the good shift-lite tach. I am already excited and it's not even July!!
