'66 and '67 383 ETs?
Anyone have any old slips/ recall times from a stock or slightly moded '66 or '67 Plymouth ro Dodge B bodys with the 383 or just know what they ran? My guess would be low to mid 15s stock in the mid 90s with a 3.23 or 3.55 gear. How far off am I?

15.4 for an A with a 383? that is weak. Probably because of the poor driver side exhaust log on the A, can you say CHOKE?

Don't be too hard on them. Keep in mind that those ETs were using whatever skinny bias plys came on the cars stock.

1969 383 Chrysler Corp. Numbers
I don't know if this helps, but an old add in a December 1968 Hot Rod magazine has a Road Runner advertisement in which published numbers are given.
1969 Plymouth Road Runner- Stock 383 Road Runner engine 4-Speed 3.91:1 rear gears Air Grabber fresh air Dual Point Distributor Viscous fan Factory tires Driver: The Great late Ronnie Sox Average of seven runs 14.01 @ 101.26 Best run 13.95 @ 101.69 After the runs are made, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) tares down the 383 to verify that no trickery has been done on the part of the Chrysler Corporation, which was found to be completely stock. |
