electrical problem
Can anybody give me some insight on why my fusable link from the starter relay to the fuse box fried on my 74 roadrunner? It started fine when I left for vacation, a week later when I came home I turned the key and the wire started smoking. I changed the link, made sure all my grounds were good, and tried a different relay all with the same results. any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

A good mod to perform:
http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...p-gauges.shtml Bypasses the old crusty bulkhead connector. |

Are you still running the factory ammeter? If so I would look at bypassing it. After years of use they can become problematic and cause a number of different problems.
