Default Nitrous help 440 Cuda

I know somewhere out there my questions will be answered. Here is my questions. My son just gave me a terrific B-day present EDL-70050 Edelbrock 50-250 nitrous shot. Here is what I have to put the kit on. 68 Cuda 440, bored .03, compression 9.4:1. 11.7cc head gaskets, stock casting heads but they are ported. I have forged Venolia pistons, eagle 4340 crank w/forged H-Beam rods, Lunati .513 lift cam. ARP through-out 830 Holley. 8.3/4, 410's, strange axles, ladder bars, coil overs and rear floaters. trans is complete w/bolt in sprag, 2800 stall.rubbered by 10.5 ET streets. I will run 110+ octane. Here is my questions I purchased cooler NGK plugs but what should I gap them at? Here is my dilemma, I hate going into a fight with one hand tied behind my back. Why not used the whole 250 shot-----people are telling me I shouldn't. Sure I read all the tuning garb should there be anything I need to watch out for?????

Need your Help!!!

Start small with the jetting (100 shot or so) make sure everything is working well: plugs, fuel pressureÂ…do your homework and step it up slowÂ…take your time. DO NOT jump strait to the maximum setting on the nitrous system, bad idea. Nitrous is not forgiving to lean conditions, so make sure you have plenty of fuel (both supply and pressure), an electric fuel pump is a good idea. Back the timing off enough for the jetting being used.

My nitrous motorÂ’s plugs are set at 0.035Â…best advice I can give, check and read your plugs after every pass. I think you motor has the right parts to handle the 250 shot, just donÂ’t get over zealous and destroy the en

I haven't been here in a while, but I'd like to add my .02 definately listen to Mr.Chemist, I have a 200 shot setup on my 390 stroker, with many of the same parts you have, and I still had to start out small to make sure everything is working properly. I assume you want to protect your investment in your motor. At the end of the day its all up to you, play safe and have fun.

Somehere in the instructions ther is a chart for timing and plug gap (at least in a NOS kit) work your way up through the power levels as mentioned before. Mare sure you always use a electric pump for the fuel and bump up the pressure I ran mine at 9.5 psi. 10 psi is where you'll start to lift the needles of the seats in the carbs.Next important rule I have is make sure you always have enough fuel in the tank or cell which ever one you have. I went to a race with low fuel and when I launched the fuel sloshed around and the pump got air for a split second and I had a lean back fire that cause the spirolock to be blown from the piston. I'm sure I don't have to say what happend after that. Good luck NOS is great when properly tuned.

One extra note. Im guessing you are running a single plane intake as the duel planes have a problem of not distrubiting equally to all cylinders. When I started spraying I pulled an extra 2 degrees of timing more than the books said just to be safe. With the 250 shot you will want to run a fuel system just for the nitrous good luck
