Default TQ connection to 904

Another TQ question... got the new engine running and went to put the car in the garage again but the transmission is no longer working. I'm getting it rebuilt and the shop is having some trouble getting the throttle position linkage to fit to the carb... it's a 6090S TQ sitting on a 318 with a 904 transmission. Anyone know a part number for a linkage that will fit it?

6090 is a factory carb for a '72 400, linkage from a TQ equipped 318 should fit. There is no single part number, the linkage is comprised of several pieces.

Many will suggest going to a cable setup, the Lokar is popular but hard to make work correctly; the Bouchillon is made specifically for Mopars.

I kinda wish I'd known about Bouchillon's kit. I used a Lokar set-up (in 2004) for the stock TQ-equipped 360/904 swap into my Mirada. It works fine (now) and looks great but I needed to fabricate an extension to their stock accel. cable bracket as well as make a throttle lever adapter and jerry-rig a return spring at the trans. lever (thanks to JK for explaining the importance of that!) - all of which look to be covered in Bouchillon's kit. I'd recommend it if you don't want to go with the stock rod/bellcrank/rod set-up that any junkyard Mopar V-8/automatic will give you.

MANCINI Racing has linkage kits in their catalog and they have cable kits too. you can log on to their site or call, they have some pretty good tech guys. I have fought this proplem many times (lost linkage, different manifolds, carbs, custom set up's,etc.) its' a must to have this adjustment right if you want the trans to work right and LIVE! P.S. KEEP EM COOL!
