Default what fan to use

I have the original 7 blade clutch fan off my 318 factory air 72 swinger. Will this cool my 535 hp 416 that I put in the car or should i use the MP viscous fan? I am using a northern 26" aluminum radiator with the northern shroud. I will be using a external tranny cooler.

As long as you're positive the viscous hub is working OK, the 7 blade should work if it fits into the shroud correctly. I had a cooling problem years ago and after lots of $$ I bought a Hayden repop fan hub and sure enough that fixed it. That fan should work just fine. IF you want to go electric go with a Spal fan. You wont find a better one out there. Most common I'd say is there 2450 cfm model. IT's 15" and very thin and uses very little power.

If you got an aluminum radiator, almost anything will work. On my 600 hp cuda i rarely turn on the electric fan, as long as the car is moving. the hood is vented, so air goes through the rad very well. I just use a small 14 inch $79 Summit electrical fan with no shroud.
