Default Yoke questions.....

I was looking at slip yokes on summit racing and the two i saw were different lengths. Im not sure which is right. Moser engineering is 6.563 part #MSR-TY900 Mopar Perf. is 8.188 part #DCC-5007411. can someone tell if it matters or if one is better.

Pull your existing one and measure it. Then buy the correct one.

Many (most) of the Mopar slip yokes have a smooth bore in front of the splines, this is a carry over from the days when a seal was used in the yoke. The smooth bore is about 1.5" deep and the aftermarket yokes don't have it so the effective length of the splines is about the same.

The only transmissions that actually need the smooth bore yoke are the '65-'67, all others will work with either style.

as long as the driveshaft dose not bottom out in the trans when its loaded or fall out when retracted. Its good to go.

I understand everything everyone is saying. There is still a problem i dont have the yokes in hand to test. I am ordering it from summit racing so i need to know if i should use one over the other. I dont want to order the wrong one. Thats the whole problem i have? Which length do i need?

Stick the drive shaft back in the rearend. Take the measurement from the center of the eye too the end of the transmission tailshaft.
Lets get that out of the way first.
Then give us the depth from the output shaft to where it bottoms out. Just use a long skinny screwdriver io a scribe tool to measure it.
Think then we can figure it out for you.

Once again, the effective length of the splines is the same so either one will work equally well on a '69.
