Default 408 balancing question

Hey guys this is probably a dumb ass question but i am confused as hell right now. I have never had a motor balanced before so I know nothing about balancing. Anyways I bought myself an eagle 4" cast steel stroker crank 2050bobweight(103604000), some eagle i beam bushed rods(SIR6123CB), and some wiseco pro tru forged pistons(PT036H3). I am getting ready to get the assembly balanced, but i got to doing some research on the internet and half the places that sell this crank say its intended to be internally balanced, and the other half say externally. I myself want it to be internally cuz i dont want to screw around with all the weights on the flywheel but if its not made to be internally is it going to cost me more than the whole crank did to get it balanced that way? Any help is truly appreciated!

Untill you have the crank spun up on a balancer, you will not know the cost of ballancing it internally. I believe Mallory metal goes for about $30 a chunk here and the cast cranks mostly can not have it placed too close to the edge so this is also detrimental to an internal balance (adds to the amount of mallory you need to use). It starts at about $300 and (usually about $80 per hr for the shop time) can go as high as $1500 to get these things corrected internally.

BEST (much cheeper, although not as efficient (just a tad))to take all components including rods, pistons, front balancer and flywheel(or flexplate) and have them externally balanced as they were designed to be. A good shop and the correct weights (from MP) will do a good job and it will run/balance fine.

Cheers

aarracer is right. I just spent $1150 plus new bearings and rod bolts to have an improperly balanced cast crank redone, and that doesn't include my re & re labor, or the bill I'm gonna get from my very forgiving local garage for the use of his shop. There was an attempt made to balance internally when the engine (stock 360 crank) was built, but somehow the external weighted converter/flexplate was not taken into account. Long story short, I had it rebalanced externally. Just be sure to deal with a reputable shop and bring everything thats connected to that crank with you.

If you get a Scat or Mopar Perf. crank then you'd likely be able to balance it w/o Mallory (like mine). I don't know about Eagle though.
