Question ever heard of this kind of elect fuel pump ?

I was talking to a mechanic yesterday, and he said there was an electric fuel pump that fits right up front and hooks in (if I understood him right) just where the mechanical one did - and is not supposed to be noisy

He couldn't remember the brand name off the top of his head

Anyone know what he was talking about ?

I agree you dont want to pull the fuel, its best to have it below and close as possiable to the fuel tank.

While most of us know that electric fuel pumps are pushers (not pullers), the comments above are of know help.

He was told by a mechanic that there is an electric fuel pump that was designed to go in the front and act as a puller. If any of you have heard of this design, he would like more information about it.

I did a Google search and came up empty handed. Still poking around, though.

RAM MAN; NAPA has a pump part no. BK6101074, i put one on a carbed Lincoln,by passed the mechanical, mounted it under the hood. It is rated at 4.5 psi and 34 g.p.h., self priming and 12 inch lift.Worked o.k. on the carbed lincoln. Probably not the most trick setup, but it worked, and i had it lying around............Hope this helps.

Default Purolator Pump

Purolator used to have a pump for bypassing around the mechanical, but did not bolt on in it's place.

here's what it has for stats etc..

That mount allows it to be bolted in the stock location.
