help! ignition issues......
hello everyone -
my 74 charger is giving me grief.....I turn the key it cranks over great, no fire though, until I turn the key quickly to the run position, then I get a little fire........ any ideas would be greatly appreciated...... |

Bad ballast resistor? A new one is only a few bucks - worth a shot.

Ballast is a likely culprit.
next likely....ECU next likely....Dist pick up. Check that the ecu is grounded properly too.(The coil is grounded through the ECU/body ground) |

fwiw, that's exactly the path I followed a few years back when I had a similar problem. #1 - replace ballast . #2 - bought an Orange Box (replaced ECU), #3 - changed the dist. pickup module, which turned out to be the culprit. (Dave, thanks for the tip on the ground for the ECU.)
