Most A body cars have a 4" bolt pattern all most all other RWD Mopars have a 4.5 " pattern You could probably get axels w. both patterns made up by any of the axel mfrs.

You can get alloy axles from mancini racing for about $140 each with green bearings installed. I would go with 4.5 bolt pattern there are more choises when it comes to rims.
the green bearings eliminate the need to adjust axle end play and the mounting flang is much thicker. I NEEDED axles due to the engine im building and the amont TQ it will make its a 528 stroker. I oppted for 3" studs because i plan to race it a little A body axles are 28" I ordered a set for my charger they use yukon axle co. see pic. I hope this helps BILL |

It is fairly common to but a 66 or 67 B diff in there, since it is pretty much a straight bolt in, and is already big bolt (4.5" ) pattern ' If the car is already a disc brake car, it will have big bolt on the front, so you likely want it to match on the rear.. |

daves right you might want to pull a axle you would need to measure from the splined end to the mounting flange.
now 74 may not have came with a 8 3/4 but that would not have stopped some one from getting a a-body correct axle. I no this to be true because i have one in my 72 duster I found it at a salvage yard 10 yrs ago for $175 dollars complete drum to drum the yard was in New Hapshire all he had was mopars 2 yards full of them he had a bunch of them laying around. I wish i could remember were that yard was i had it marked in a map book that i can't find all i no is the name it was winkles. wish i could find it because im seaching for a rear bumper for my 73 charger because they were prone to rot and mine is in bad shape. |
