I've been watching since 5. Now they're on the last Stingray, so my interest has waned. (Not that I've changed the channel though )

I have been watching since I got home from work at 6. Since I was born in 1978 and missed the whole muscle car era, each show interests me. But, of course, Mopar is in my blood being a 4th gen Mopar guy.

Did y'all see the episode on "which engine produced the most HP?" Of course the HEMI was the winner, but what confused me was that they showed the stock engine producing 860 HP! Why then in the May 2006 issue of Mopar Muscle the article on "High Horse HEMIS" the winner got only 728.2 HP from a modified engine? Also one can look at the adds and see where they are selling 605 c.i. "Street Legend" that only produces 830 HP. What gives???

It's nice to see the Hemi won, but those heads or something, I"m guessing, aint stock!! I thought it was in the 4s for the street hemi, 6 hundred for the race, than the cam and head porting starts

I don't know about the 'street' version, but have seen firsthand one of the race Hemis. A friend owns one of 13 factory lightweight '65 Belvederes. Motor made 599.6 hp when dynoed last Fall.

Default Hemi and 427 Ford

made the top HP. Hemi was 800, 427 was, I think, 720. If you can believe the announcer, all engines were stock plus max. .060 overbore. All other equipment was supposedly factory stock or factory race parts, on all engines. I always heard that the street hemis really produced around 525 in single carb form, but the test engine had duals, so it should be around 600?

I love that show. If I could just get them to finish my duster that would be great.

The Mopar guys pulled a fast one in my opinion. That "stock" Hemi had to be somewhere around 600 cubic inches.
