There is no way to test a fluid drive unit, even the factory manual states to "replace with a known good unit if in doubt".

ok i had clearance issues between my rad and engine so i wnt with a flex fan.. is there any clutch fan system thats really narrow or are they al generally the same size, i find the flex fan makes tons of noise, compaired to what the engine had orriginally in a newport...

haha dont get me wrong, its good when oyu dont have space, but it makes alot of noise....from my perspective, and i think it probably creates way more drag on the engine than a clutch/viscous fan...
