Thumbs up

Does anyone know where I can get guages repaired that don't cost a fortune (gas, temp, oil) for a 1969 Barracuda, the only one that works in the cluster is the amp, or someone who has any.

Have you checked the voltage limiter for the insturment cluster? This drops 12 volts down to 5 and provides power to the fuel and temperature gauges. If the oil pressure gauge is electric it probably gets it's power from there too.It should be mounted on the back of the gauge cluster.

Hey there,

I got 2 places for you to try:

"Clock Doc" info line (615) 598-5986 and order line (800) 256-5362.
125 University Ave.
Sewanee, Tennessee 37375

"Performance Car Graphics" (850) 878-1450 Fax: (850) 878-3161
723 Shannon St.
Tallahassee, FL 32311

The clock doc is your typical rebuild facility, with core charges/exchanges.

Performance Car Graphics has several options, from just getting decals to re-face your gauges to complete instrument cluster servicing. Lots of other little services too...heater control, dash panel, lettering, woodgrain, inner trim, and every possible decal for mopars! Its a nice source for the little things!

Kuda4, don't bother looking for the common "tin box" voltage limiter in the Cuda, it's not there. The limiter is built into the gas gauge. It *PROBABLY* is the limiter that's bad, but you must rebuild/replace the gas gauge, or do some creative wiring (wire in a Dart limiter), to get the limiter to work. I went through all this last summer with a 68 Cuda, replaced all the gauges & now everything works perfectly for the first time in over 20 years.

Good luck!
