Default California Design Studio Closing

Chrysler closing Calif design studio Sat Mar 8, 3:10 PM ET

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Chrysler LLC says it is closing its advanced design studio in California as part of a companywide consolidation.

Chrysler says work from the studio in Carlsbad, Calif., will be moved to its headquarters city of Auburn Hills, Mich.

About 20 Carlsbad employees are affected by the closing that was announced Friday.

Design chief Trevor Creed will continue to lead Chrysler's design efforts.

Chrysler has been restructuring since private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP bought a majority stake in the company last summer.

Well, that should save them the money of running another remote office. Hopefully most of their talent moves with the office.
