Exclamation 73-74 b-body k-members

does the DC trick (for a-bodies) of moving the motor mounts on a small block k-member back 13/16" on the pass side and 1 3/16" for the drivers side
also work for the 73-74 b-body k-members if you want to run a big block? any help would be appreciated.

Do it the easy way and use a Schumacher kit.

Default Besides that

Why in the world would you try to do something that dimension intense, when you can simply buy them done perfectly from Schumacher? By the way, Schumacher also has firewall gasket sets that are equally well done. You gonna try to make them, too? And their big block headers?
Come on, spend your time on the right stuff.

i'm not knocking Schumacher, they have excellent products. I did the DC mod on my old a-body with excellent results, and dimensionally accurate (well
within factory tollerances). i'm just wondering if it would work on b-body k-members as well.

the sb to bb conversion on later B bodies just requires the correct motor mount brackets. Junkyard or ebay. If you have the MP chassis book, it tells all about it.

thanks, i need to get a chassis manual. i knew you could do the smallblock to bigblock on 66-72 B-bodies, but i wasn't sure on the 73 and up B-bodies.
Thanks again.

Guys, don't slam him because he didn't like my suggestion. My suggestion was just that.

I don't know anything about the 'DC trick'. So, I can't say if it is a good thing or not.

I also don't know how hard the other brackets are to find.
