Default shock mounts

The 81/4 rear end I got out of the junk yard had no shock mounts but it did have the u-bolts and there in good shape, can I drill out the mounts from my 71/4 to accept the larger u-bolts? Also from what Iam finding is my driveshaft has to be shortened 1.5 inches for this swap into my 68 Barracuda??

I have been told you can drill the shock mounts out for this. I haven't myself. I picked up new ones at just suspesion. I think Mancini racing also has them. I liked new rather than modded old units.

The 1-1/2 is the measurement I got from a 904 to a 727 swap I did.

Biggrin

I've drilled a few of them and they work just fine. Drill bits a lot cheaper, but you can buy new pieces.
