brake pushrod removal
I have an extra master cylinder with the pushrod still installed. It has a fairly recently installed (a year or two) pushrod that I would like to remove without destroying the rubber retainer on the end of it. Someone here posted a neat trick for removing a pushrod but I have not been able to find it using the search forums/site option. Anyone got a good method?

If you have a hydraulic floor jack, remove the lift pad and stick the pushrod down through the hole; then place a rod (screwdriver shank) through the end of the pushrod so that it extends below the jack frame and raise the jack.
No quarantee that it won't ruin the rubber retainer. |

good idea John, I kept trying to come up with an arrangement using the vise and some gear pullers. I'm not too worrried about messing up the rubber retainer, I bought five new ones a while back, hopefully a lifetime supply for me. Thanks again, you have helped me many times over the years.
