Idea valve lash

hi how do u guys set your valve lash on a mech cam ? do u use the chart from mopar ?
i set mine that way and found that several valves were looser at a diff point than the chart had me set them !
should i use the old style of rolling the eng till i get max cl and set it there ?
what have u guys done ?

I loosen the lock nut [if thats the type] and with feeler gauge between rocker/valve have someone crank over the motor while applying a lil pressure to the allen wrench I'm adjusting it with and when all slack is taken up I tighten the lock nut, one by one.
Other wise if it's stock 225-273 style go by the mopar chart or like I would always do is find the loose ones and adjust them going over them a couple times. JMO

When the exhaust starts to open, set the intake. When the intake starts to close, set the exhaust.

If you are using a MP cam, following the Mopar chart is a good idea. Mopar cams have a quieting section on the ramp that takes up some lash, and this could interfere with adjustments at any other position than that directed by MP.

Yes. I second this method. I'll elaborate by saying that this method works on any cam from stock slant 6 to giant roller. I'll also add that you should do one cylinder at a time using this method.
