Default which camshaft????!!!!!

ok, i'm about to lose it here, some say this cam don't have enough flow, this and that, i need adjustable rocker arms for this, i need a higher stall, yadda yadda yadda.
ok it's a 440 in a 72 charger, running around 10.6-10.7 compression range. KB dome pistons. 452 heads 84cc chamber. performer rpm intake, 2400 tci stall converter. balanced, cast crank, stock rods. so i aint going to be able to turn alot of rpms. alot of the cams with the higher lifts have the higher rpm durations on them, so i was wondering if maybe i could go with one of the higher lift cams, and with the degree marks that come on the timing chains nowadays, maybe i could lower the rpm range on the cam??? its a 4 degree advance or retard on it, and what i've heard is the general rule of thumb is for every degree you degree it, it raises or lowers the rpm range 100rpm. so 4 degrees is 400 rpm right??? sorry to ask all these questions, but i don't want to screw up here.
heres some of the cams i am looking at, and was wondering which one i could use, without the headache of adjustable rocker arms. a quick streetcar is what i'm shooting for, something to take out on saturday nights, and stomp some mustardstain butt, and camaros butt, and turn the firebirds into a frozen bird. something to take to the strip every now and then, was thinking about putting a small shot of nos on it.

heres some cams i'm looking at
comp cams
heres one, but could i use it with stock rocker arms with the lift on it, and stock length pushrods??

sorry to ask all this, but i don't want to have the wrong camshaft, i want to have good low end torque, and also have power up til redline, which isn't very high on a cast crank 440, balanced.

The Mopar 509 will fit without any mods using the Lunati springs I mentioned earlier. I saw you mentioned the weight being 3300 or so. Unless you have fiberglass body parts or the car is gutted, in street trim it will weigh about 3800-4000 lbs. Paul.

If you can't find a cam that's good for you, just call a cam manufacturer and get a professional opinion or maybe even a custom grind. Personally I'd call Hughes Engines, they specialize only in Mopar engines and all their cams have higher lift compared to their duration.

I have used the first Comp Cams XEHL cam with stock rockers and stock length pushrods, worked great, but was a bit too tame for my taste. Maybe it's not for yours though, but I like it when you hear and feel that there is a CAM in your engine.

I have had two different hughes cams, and I liked them both, The guys there will ask the important questions and tell you what will work, you won't be able to convince them about what you want to work, so don't waste your time trying they have alot of history, trust them and you'll be glad you did.

I would lean towards one of these. Should be fine with stock rockers. I'd stay in the low 230's @ .50 for good low end.

I have the Hughes 2832 in my 440, with 3.23 and stock 383 torque converter, it is great. Runs 13.60, manifolds, street tires, and dual 600 Edelbrocks. They strongly recommend adjustable rockers. I used crane rockers.

Also I ran my cast crank 440 to 6,000 all the time. Kept on pullin.
