Default Hot starting problems

Hello. 67 dart with msd and mopar electronic distributor will not start when hot. Also Im not running a balast resistor. I changed the coil with no luck. I guess the only two things it could be are the msd or the distributor. Any guess to which one?

Running an AFB? Heat soak is a killer on those carbs. Also check fuel line route and insulate it from excessive heat. Sticking advance plate? My TQ'd 340 even had a hot start problem but it turned out to be a sticky advance plate on the distributor.

No, its not the carb. I pulled a plug and grounded it and turned the engine over and no spark.

check reluctor gap. MSD can be triggered by dragging the points wire over a ground and watching your coil wire close to a ground. I stick a screwdriver in the coil wire and lay it on a ground so it is almost touching and look for a spark. I got 2 bad MSD 6's in my pile, not a rock solid reliable piece. Easy enough to keep a spare ECU wired up on a switch, or socketed.

I'm pretty sure if you can make the MSD unit fire by tapping the white wire to ground, take coil wire out of dist and place it next block. If MSD is good, coil wire should spark each time white wire is grounded.
Anybody have the MSD book out there? In the trouble shooting part it tells how to test the box.
