Default Gears

I am going to blow this 7 1/4 all over the freeway. Yet my quest for an a body rear end is not going well. I so so so need some 3.50's or higher numerically and limitted slip of some kind. I am in San Jose, CA and I'm on a severe budget, can anyone help?? Thanks!!

buy a Ford 9" out of a Maverick. I know it aint a Mopar piece, but its cheap and very close to your perches. If you want a drop in, get yourself a 8.25" Mopar piece out of a Duster or Scamp/Demon/Dart.

A-body 8 1/4" would be the cheapest way out, but it'll probably have taller (lower numerically) gearing. F-J-M rears might fit as well. R & P's are available for the 8 1/4, as are Auburn and SureGrip limited slip diffs. The 8 1/4 isn't a bad piece, (I have one from a cop-car in my Mirada) is easy to set up, and doesn't have a c-clip issue, although it does use them. Or, as pishta says, get a Mav 9" if you can find one and aren't fussy about the origin.
