Does anyone know if the adjustable rocker arms on a slant six can be put onto the the rocker arms for a small block?, or are the V-8 ones different size? Thanks.

As far as I know you can't put slant rockers on a V-8. The geometry would be way off. If you could you would still have to find rocker shafts because you can't use the hydraulic shafts with mechanical rockers.
My buddy has had problems with spitting pushrods in his stock car. If every thing isn't right you'll be spitting valvetrain parts all the time. If you can run the factory 273 Rockers. Mopar sells new ones also. Glen 440 |

No, you can't use the /6 rockers. They are much longer than the V8 rocker arms, and they are stamped steel rockers with about the same accuracy as the V8 hydraulic rockers. Why can't you use adjustable rockers with hydraulic shafts? The original 273 shafts aren't any different than the hydraulic shafts. I have used the hydraylic shafts nitrated with Harlan Sharp roller rockers, and also Speed Pro and Crane rockers on the stock shafts, and absolutely without any problems.

Yes the 273 rocker arms and shalfts will work on all the small blocks. I put a set on my 318 because I shaved a lot off the heads.

If so, I would have to go in the attic to check the quantity & the part numbers. |

Hmmm, don't know about the part numbers, but why are there different numbers? Adjustable rockers for stock LA heads should all be the same, it seems that the ones you have are partly offsetted. This means that they are propably either T/A rockers or W2 rockers, and do not fit stock heads. Also remember that if you find stock 273 rocker arms, you still need new pushrods if using a hydraulic cam; the hydraulic and mechanical pushrods for adjustables are different length. Also the adjusting system in the srock rockers isn't the most reliable, and I would consider changing the 'snug' bolt to a bolt and nut adjuster.

You all seem to know alot about rocker arms, so now I have a question, Will 3.9 V-6 rocker arms work on a 318 V-8. They look the same to me.

Yes they will as long as they are of the same style. LA or Magnum. LA on LA. Magnum on Magnum. They won't interchange. The bigger problem I see is if you use V-6 rockers on a V-8 you are going to have two cylinders that are going to feel awfully neglected...LOL! Only kidding.
