new to super chargers!!!

i was at a swap meet and met a guy who has a bunch of parts for sale different stuff for fox bodies and i asked about any dodge stuff and he said that he had a paxton centrifical super charger for sale like 700 bucks
he said it was in great shape and all this

i want to go take a look cuz it sounds like i could get it for a lot cheaper maybe around 500 or so!

but what i want to know is what all should i look for?
how do i know im buying a quailty unit and not a pile of crap lol

i considered buying and having it rebuilt (if they even do this)

its for a 360 mag fuel injected engine (1997) dakota

give me an idea on what to look for

From personal experience I would never buy a used blower....too many what ifs.
