Question

I am going to do a few suspension/handling mods soon and am looking for some help. The main look I would like to get is the wedge look where the front points more to the ground and the rear is higher. What I have been considering is using shackles on the front coil springs to lower it about 1". Another idea I had was to leave the front alone and raise the back 1" using blocks or an added leaf spring. Well guys, let me know which way to go because I really don't know much when it comes to this kind of stuff!

Sorry, I have a 94 2w drive. I guess I'll have to start showing my profile signature at the bottom of my posts.

I like that same wedge look myself. I've lowered the front of my '98, 1 1/2" with WC springs and the rear with 2"shackle hangers. The latter was a bear (had to drill out the rivets). The results were fantastic handling. If you can go lower vs. raising I would reccommend it.

GS, tell me a little more about the springs that you did on the front. The front is all that I want to lower and I only want to lower it about an inch.

Good luck on exact measurements. I wanted an inch and the result was 1 1/2 inches. It seems they can't predict exactly what the lowering will end up being, but can put you in the ball park. You also have a about a week for the front coils to settle. I'm happy tho, it gave me more of the wedge stance I was looking for. The new springs had 8 coils compared to the stock springs 6 coils. Better ride and less bumpsteer was obvious. I also had to re-remove 1 spring and trim it because it was a little higher than the other installed. I definately think your 94s handling would improve. Its amazing what just 1 inch will do. BTW, the manufacturer was Western Chassis and the Dak is a '98 regular cab 5.2L .
