Just wondering is anyone happens to have a Dak from 88-92 with 3.9 engine that happens to make a jingling or clicking noise when it has warmed up. I have an 88 Ram with 3.9 that does this and no one seems to know about it in the ramchat because most full size trucks came with 5.2 or 5.9. Someone mentioned it might be the timing chain. I'm curious to know if anyone else has this problem with their motor.

The noise is your timing chain. You shuld replace it with a high quality one, not one from a discount auto parts store. it is very common to hear that noise on the 3.9L

Use a quality double roller chain, or Mopar has a chain and guide kit that will retro fit in place of your regular timing chain. Have had good success with the Mopar piece.
