Pypes Exhaust
Anyone have this exhaust? I'm thinking of running it on my small block. Not sure of the sound. I know it's chambered so does it sound like a Flowmaster? Thanks.

I was about to order a Race-Pro system for my '70 Duster 318 but had to cancel it because my timing chain jumped and now I'm in a world of sh!t. I think the sound is similar to the Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers, judging by the description of the muffler construction. Quiet and smooth at idle and cruise, with a big increase in sound when accelerating or revving.

so I would assume it doesn't sound like glasspacks? I just haven't heard this exhaust

No. To be honest glasspacks sound like crap compared to the mufflers in the kit. They are built in a similar way, but these mufflers are much more advanced technology- and materials-wise.
From the site: "The Race Pro’s aggressive sound is the result of applying a layer of stainless mesh around a unique internal perforated tube, accompanied by a healthy stuffing of basalt insulation before the unit is sealed." |
