Question

Hello: I have a 82 Ram Charger that is built for off road rock crawling, I need to cam my moter with a mild rv cam (3/4) I don't have the spec's. here but what I need to know is should I run the purple cam or maybe a crane or high energy. I would appreciate any input you all could offer. Thanks

You didnt state what motor, trans, gear ratio etc etc,now how do you expect a "REAL" answer to such a question? because I've spent over half my life talking to people like you I can probably answer it,I'll assume you have a 318 or 360 in relatively stock form with big tires and stock gearing, for the 318 use P4452755(.405/.410 240*/248*)this MP cam will make tons of torque at idle I've not found anything even close, for a 360 use P4452757(.410/ .425 248*/256*)again I've found nothing even close to these rv cams, alot of people lately are bad mouthing MP and their cams but I've built tons of performance motors over a 25 yr time period and found very few that perform as well....PRO...

Sorry about that!!! the P4452757 is the one I was looking at using in the MP. So here are my spec's, I'm running a 318 bore .030 over, 727 tranny mod. with 2 early servo's and 8 forward cluches and a BM shift kit, and a low stall converter. junked the 1/2 ton stock axles and installed 4:10 geared 3/4 ton full floaters, both locked up I run an ac cell egnition system and a Orange box. So should I run the P4452755 or the P4452757 or something else.??

I have a priv. commun. all are welcome to apply to visit with some killer photo's of my ram and 3 others in action. goto:

Sounds like a sweet 4X4, ROCK. I have an 84 ex government Ramcharger that I built up for pretty much the same thing. I run a 360 with 9.5 to 1 compression, 650 Holley spread bore, headers, MSD ignition, and the P4452759 cam. This combo works really well with the factory 3.23 gears. It's a little hard on the tranny, so I built it up with a MP race kit, and a factory high stall converter. She stalls at about 2900 RPM, and with a little brake to keep it from spinning, I can climb or pull just about anything around here. I know, it's a weird combo, but it works for me. You have an pics of that ride? I'm interested to see what you have done. If you click the link below, you can go to my site that has a few pics of my Ramcharger and a few specs.

how about a link that works? I would like to see for the hell of it,I am building an 84 ramcharger but taking the 318 out and throwing it in the neighbors yard no SB's for me,I'm building a 450CI out of a 400 and using the MP cam that is 430 lift,I also pulled the stock axles out and put a dana 60 in the rear with 4.10's and a dana power loc sure grip unit and am about to put a dana 61 in the front with an ARB airlocker in it,so I'm curious to see what others have done since this is my first 4x4.
