Default The long, looong RamCharger build....

Last time I hung around here I was working on building a 440 to swap into my '75 RamCharger, which I bought new.

Things got in the way, so I'm about torestart the swap.

The 440 is a motor home engine, .20 over, the - don't recall the p/n, good iron heads, 10:1, my own cam specs, ThermoQuad, Offenhauser Dual Port 360, .20 under iron crank, stock rebuilt rods, cast pistons, Hedman 4X4 big block headers...yatatayatata.

So, O had the heads and crank done when I was last here, and they have lightly rusted.

Best way to unrust them ?? Vapor blasting, bead blasting, what ??

I'm mostly concerned about cleaning up the crank without having to grind it.

May I please have your thoughts and ideas ??

Thank you.

Doug

Snow bowl. Eats rust better than anything I've ever used. Just brush it on with a small paint bruch, let it sit for about 10 min then and use a scotch rite pad with some break clean. Use some rubber gloves, if you don't your fingers will start burning.

Yes SnoBowl is the best toilet cleaner I've used. I used it on a toilet tank that was very rusty inside. It was very impressive. Never thought to use it on car parts.

Citric acid also works well to remove rust. And it's bio friendly.
