Default What do I do?

I have a 383 block with 400 heads. I purchased thew edelbrock performer rpm intake. The intake I purchase says it fits the 383-400. The question was what valley pan do I use. The pan I got originally was the 383, but where the exhaust port is there is an opening on the 400 head. The pan does not cover this opening and I dont know if the hole should be covered. There is a flat groove around the opening as if that is where the gasket or pan go. Im not sure if I have to get a different pan or what. Please Help...

Welcome to the board sixfive407.

The port for the exhaust crossover should be in the same place on both the head and the intake manifold and either the 383 or 400 bathtub gasket (they're basically the same) should seal the crossover. The U-shaped opening in the head that surrounds the crossover port doesn't need sealing so the gasket won't extend out that far.

Thanks guys...I have another question. I have a BB 383 with AC. I want to delete the AC and I am curious of what New pulley I need to continue driving the alternator. Does something go in the same area as the ac pulley? I appreciate your time.

To correctly remove the A/C (silly idea IMHO) you need to get non-A/C pulleys and alternator bracketry, Bouchillon has repops.
