Default speed adjustment/passing gear lever

I have a 81 mirada . It had a 318/904 and 2.26 gears. My question is my speedometer goes 85 mph when going 35mph. I installed a 360/727 with 355 gears . What mods do i need to do or what needs to be replaced? What is the correct way to adjust my passing gear linkage? Should it have a spring on it? Thanks

The speed-o gear in the trans where the cable hooks up.

call year one and tell them your new gear ratio and they will hook you up.

I was told by Year one that they dont do anything with the newer Dodge.
I told them my gear ratio is 355 and my tire height is 6.02. He said he couldnt do anything with it.

Default speedo gear

I haven't fooled with this for a long time. But I believe there are several different speedo gears available. You'll have to take yours out and count the teeth to calculate the ratio. Then you have to use some fancy math to calculate what ratio you need to install. But it's just numbers and you can do it, or PM me and I'll try to help.

You will probably have to change the speedo cable to make the 727 work in your Mirada, the transmission end of the '81 cable usually takes a different type of speedo pinion. You say your tire size is "6.02"? Makes no sense, did you mean (2)6.02"?. If so, you need a 36 tooth pinion part number 52068158.

The throttle pressure linkage does need a spring pulling the linkage forward but if you swapped in a 727 and are trying to use the 904 linkage it won't work without modifications.
