Default Viper engine swap

I"m putting a 1996 Viper Gen 2 into a 1956 DeSoto 2 dr. HT. What can I eliminate on the pollution controls and engine management system? Would it give me more power? How do I go about reprograming the engine management system? Would I be better off leaving well enough alone?

Default

MP makes a wire harness and controoller for non-Viper installations,
Wiring harness for non-Viper applications P5007142
Engine Controller for non-Viper applications P5007144

Both will set you back about a grand but the injectors/ignition need a controller.
