Is it possible to use a slave cylinder on the 60's and 70's type manual transmissions (throw-out bearing)? If so, are there any kits available to complete this conversion? It doesn't appear overly complicated to come up with some type of conversion here.

Yes TD I considered this many years ago and even found a ford application with the same I.D. as my A-833 t/o brg. It was not long enough but had enough travel I was going to machine a spacer behind it of the proper thickness but I got in a hurry to go racing and ran the stock stuff but I do remember it was a ford truck I think an 84 model,I hope this helps...PRO...

I may just know of a good source for your idea. Mopar is currently replacing the plastic hyd clutch assemblies on the V-10 pickups. They replace the entire system. If you know anyone at the Dodge Dealership, you might be able to score one of these throw away take offs. The master cyl is easy to mount as it only takes a hole in the firewall.
Also, I have a hydraulic throwout bearing assembly that fits the 3-speed tranny. It eliminates the need for any linkage what so ever. If either of these interest you I can try to help. |

I would appreciate any help that you can provide. Is this modification a factory sponsored fix? If so, is it possible to get a copy of the Service bulletin associated with the fix? Thanks.
